Do Your Kids Need Braces?

August 19th, 2022

The answer to when kids should get braces depends on a number of factors. First, it is important to consult with an orthodontist or dentist to assess whether your child needs braces. If the orthodontist determines that braces are necessary, they will usually recommend starting treatment around age 7 or 8. This is because this is typically when kids have lost their baby teeth and their adult teeth have started to come in.
However, every child is different, and some may need to start earlier or later depending on their individual needs. Ultimately, the decision of when to start treatment should be made in consultation with a qualified orthodontist.

surgical orthodontics

July 29th, 2022

For some adults, orthodontic treatment alone cannot fully correct their orthodontic problem. They may also need surgery in combination with orthodontic treatment to achieve a functional, healthy bite. Surgical orthodontics, also called orthognathic surgery, is corrective jaw surgery performed to remedy skeletal problems that affect the ability to bite, chew and speak. Orthodontic treatment is done before and after surgery so that upper and lower teeth meet appropriately, and the individual is able to more effectively bite, chew, and speak.

Who needs surgical orthodontics?

Surgical orthodontics may be necessary for someone whose upper and lower jaws, which hold the teeth, are out of position. Consequently, the upper and lower teeth don’t fit, impairing the ability to bite, chew or speak. Your orthodontist will work in conjunction with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to position your jaws and teeth for optimal function.

Why is surgical orthodontics necessary?

Unlike children, adults are no longer growing, so the only way to modify the size or shape of an adult’s jaw bones is through surgery.

What causes the need for surgery?

Sometimes the root cause is genetic – as you were growing, your upper and lower jaws grew out of proportion to each other, and that can keep upper and lower teeth from meeting as they should, making it hard to bite, chew or speak. Other causes can be linked to birth defects or injuries to the jaw or environmental causes.

Which comes first – surgery or orthodontic treatment?

Orthodontic treatment usually comes before surgical orthodontics. The purpose is to align teeth so that they fit correctly after surgery is performed. Orthodontic treatment continues for a time after surgery to bring teeth into their final, optimal positions for good function.

Is surgical orthodontics only necessary for jaws that are misaligned?

Surgical orthodontics is generally recommended for adults who have a severe problem with the positions of their teeth and jaws that cannot be corrected by orthodontic treatment alone. Sometimes surgical orthodontics may be needed for those whose jaws are injured in an accident, or to correct a birth defect.

Is surgical orthodontics performed only on adults?

For correction of misaligned jaws and teeth that are the result of a growth problem, surgical orthodontics is performed on patients who have finished growing.

Is orthodontic treatment always required with surgical orthodontics?

Yes.

When Should My Kids Get Braces?

July 22nd, 2022

When Should My Kids Get Braces?

The American Academy of Orthodontists recommends that children see an orthodontist for the first time around age seven, when they are evaluated to determine if braces are needed. Those who get their teeth straightened early have better results in less time than those waiting until adulthood.

The reason? It’s all about how much space there is between each tooth and its neighboring structures! The younger you start treatment on this front-the sooner your project will be finished with improved self esteem as welll.

Negative Effects of Thumbsucking

July 1st, 2022

Thumbsucking is a common habit among young children, and it can have a variety of effects on their lives. For some children, thumbsucking is simply a phase that they eventually outgrow. However, for others, it can become a lifelong habit.
Thumbsuck Overbite

There are a number of different thumbsucking effects that parents should be aware of. For example, thumbsucking can lead to changes in the alignment of the teeth. In addition, it can also cause the child to develop a lisp or difficulty speaking clearly. Thumbsucking can also have an affect on social interactions, as it can be seen as childish or immature behavior by others. As a result, it is important for parents to be aware of the potential thumbsucking effects so that they can help their child to stop if necessary.

Why choose Invisalign® treatment

June 24th, 2022

Invisalign is the clear alternative to metal braces. It uses a series of clear, nearly invisible plastic aligners that gradually move your teeth into place. And because they’re practically invisible, nobody will know you’re going through treatment unless you tell them.

braces vs Invisalign

Invisalign has helped treat over 4 MILLION cases worldwide and is always improving.

Align Technology designs and manufactures the Invisalign system, which is comprised of Clear Aligners, Attachments, Scanning Equipment and Proprietary Software.

What are some benefits of Invisalign over traditional metal braces?

 - You can still eat all your favorite foods because you can remove your Invisalign whenever you want! Just take them out to eat then brush and floss like normal before popping them back in.
 - In a 2015 Clinical Study, invisalign was shown to be more effective at improving root position than braces.
 - Since they’re removable, it’s easy to keep your teeth and gums extra clean during treatment! Just remove your aligners to brush and floss like normal.
 - They’re comfortable with no wires or brackets to irritate your mouth

How Can Thumb sucking Affect My Child's Teeth?

June 9th, 2021

Damage cause by thumbsucking

Thumb Suck Openbite
After permanent teeth come in, sucking may cause problems with the proper growth of the mouth and alignment of the teeth. It can also cause changes in the roof of the mouth.

Pacifiers can affect the teeth essentially the same ways as sucking fingers and thumbs, but it is often an easier habit to break.

The intensity of the sucking is a factor that determines whether or not dental problems may result. If children rest their thumbs passively in their mouths, they are less likely to have difficulty than those who vigorously suck their thumbs. Some aggressive thumbsuckers may develop problems with their baby (primary) teeth.

When Do Children Stop Sucking Their Thumbs?

Children usually stop sucking between the ages of two and four years old, or by the time the permanent front teeth are ready to erupt. If you notice changes in your child’s primary teeth, or are concerned about your child’s thumbsucking consult your dentist.

How Can I Help My Child Stop Thumbsucking?

Praise your child for not sucking.
Children often suck their thumbs when feeling insecure or needing comfort. Focus on correcting the cause of the anxiety and provide comfort to your child.
For an older child, involve him or her in choosing the method of stopping.
Your dentist can offer encouragement to your child and explain what could happen to their teeth if they do not stop sucking.

Top signs invisalign will work for you

June 9th, 2021

1. Your Case Is Straightforward
Most cases of crooked teeth can be fixed with Invisalign. The system can work for those who have underbites, overbites, crossbites, open bites or those who have gaps or crowded teeth. But, that doesn’t mean it works for everyone.
Invisalign, orthodontist Fort Lauderdale
Your dentist or orthodontist will be able to assess your case and let you know if Invisalign is right for you. In more complex cases, you may require dental surgery, or you may not be able to have your teeth straightened without the use of traditional braces.

2. You’re Responsible
One reason Invisalign is only for people over a certain age is that you must commit to wearing them for them to work. Invisalign trays are removable, meaning you can take them out if you wish. The system relies on you wearing them on your teeth for a set number of hours per day. In some cases, this means you’ll have to wear them all of the time, except when you eat.

Because you can remove them, some people decide they won’t bother wearing them. They may even lose them. These types of people likely won’t progress very far with Invisalign, because they’ll stall their own results.

If you aren’t very committed to changing your teeth, or you know you lose important items easily, Invisalign probably isn’t the solution for you.

3. You’ve Got All of Your Adult Teeth
Most orthodontists won’t treat teeth cosmetically unless you have all of your adult teeth. That’s because they can’t predict how children’s adult teeth will grow in.

In order to have Invisalign, you must have all of your adult teeth. In some cases, there are adults who still have a baby tooth or two that is lingering. If this is the case, you may require further orthodontic work before you’re able to start the Invisalign process.

4. You’ve Got Good Oral Hygiene
Having good oral hygiene is a must for Invisalign trays. Not only must your mouth be healthy, but you must be able to take care of your trays so that they don’t cause infections or further issues.

This goes along with the point that you must be responsible in order to wear Invisalign trays. You must clean them at regular intervals and take good care of the trays. Otherwise, you may have to pay quite a bit to replace them.

Additionally, you will need to ensure your mouth is free of disease or other problems and that you brush regularly before a dentist or orthodontist will consider you.

5. You Don’t Smoke
As your Invisalign trays will be in most of the day, you can’t smoke or use tobacco. This can interfere with the trays themselves, as well as make them dirty. If you smoke too often and remove your trays while you smoke, you may find that your Invisalign isn’t as effective as it could be because you aren’t wearing them for enough time during the day.

Additionally, smoking is incredibly unhealthy for not just your teeth, but your entire body. If you want to have Invisalign and smoke, now might be the best time to quit.

6. You’re Old Enough
Not only do you need to have all of your adult teeth, but you also need to be old enough to wear Invisalign. There is no upper age limit, and you can have your teeth straightened at any point in your life. But, most orthodontists aren’t keen to give sets to young teens or children, regardless of if they have all of their adult teeth.

This is partially because the Invisalign trays are removable and must be looked after. This gives the wearer an added responsibility that they may not have with traditional braces that cannot be removed.

Signs You Need Braces

April 28th, 2021

The signs that an adult needs braces can vary according to age and overall dental health.

Adult braces are becoming increasingly common, and outcomes from adult braces are mostly positive.

A 1998 survey concluded that needing braces is more common than not needing them, estimating that only 35 percent of adults have perfectly aligned teeth.

Symptoms that can indicate you need braces include:

  • teeth that are visibly crooked or crowded

  • difficulty flossing between and brushing around crooked teeth

  • frequently biting your tongue or cutting your tongue on your teeth

  • teeth that don’t close over each other properly when your mouth is at rest

  • difficulty pronouncing certain sounds due to your tongue’s position under your teeth

  • jaws that click or make noises when you chew or first wake up

  • stress or fatigue on your jawline after chewing food

How to tell if your child needs braces?

If your child needs braces, it can be a little more difficult to tell. If a child has baby teeth that are crooked or crowded, it can be a sign that they will need braces in the future.

Other signs include:

  • breathing through the mouth

  • jaws that click or make other sounds

  • being prone to biting the tongue, roof of the mouth, or inside of the cheek accidentally

  • thumb-sucking or using a pacifier past the age of 2

  • early or late loss of baby teeth

  • teeth that don’t come together even when the mouth is shut completely

  • teeth that are crooked or crowded

Poor nutrition during the infant and toddler stage, poor dental hygiene, and genetics are all reasons why children may end up needing braces.

Here are the signs in details:

Crowding is the most common condition addressed in orthodontic care. When there isn’t enough space in your mouth for all of your teeth, then you are experiencing crowding. Braces or orthodontic treatment at a young age can help with crowding, but even patients that had braces when they were younger can experience crowding as adults. Crowding gets worse as time goes on and can result in areas that are very difficult to brush and floss. When you aren’t able to keep your teeth clean, plaque accumulates and can cause tooth decay, gum disease, bad breath and bone loss around the teeth.

Gapping and spacing is the opposite of crowding. Those who have gaps in between their teeth may be missing a tooth or have a large jaw.

An overbite is caused when the upper front teeth excessively overlap the lower front teeth. This is not only noticeable but also comes with many health and oral problems. There is an increased risk or trauma to the front teeth and likelihood of fracturing the front teeth in the case of an injury. Overbites can also lead to extreme tooth wear and gum recession.

Opposite of the overbite, the underbite occurs when all of the upper front teeth are behind the lower front teeth. Typically this occurs when patients have a disproportionate jaw size. If you have difficulty chewing and biting, you may have an underbite. Underbites can also cause accelerated facial aging and an imbalanced facial appearance.

Do you have an upper tooth that crosses behind a lower opposing tooth? If so, you may have a crossbite. This is an abnormal bite and should not be left untreated. Without proper care, a crossbite can cause asymmetric jaw growth, extreme wear of teeth and increased gum recession of the affected teeth. Crossbites can be fixed, but if you wait too long, there can be an inability to restore fractured or worn teeth.

Another type of abnormal bite is the open bite. If you bite down and your teeth don’t touch, you could have an open bite. Typically open bites cause speech problems and difficulty biting.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DENTIST AND AN ORTHODONTIST?

April 21st, 2021

There are more differences than similarities. An ORTHODONTISTrequires additional schooling as a dental specialty; the situation is similar to a doctor who obtains additional schooling to become a surgeon. Another difference is that orthodontists specialize in helping patients with the alignment of their teeth, improving their bite, or fitting them for CORRECTIVE BRACES and devices. If a patient has an overbite, a dentist will refer him or her to an orthodontist.

WHAT DO DENTISTS DO ?

Dentists are doctors of oral health. Typically, dentists go to college for a pre-dentistry or pre-medical degree before going on to a graduate school of dentistry.Like all doctors, dentists are required to be extensively trained in their practice before becoming certified. About 80 percent of dentists practice what’s known as general dentistry. Certified dentists can diagnose and treat oral health conditions of your teeth, gums, tongue, and mouth. They’re also able to clean your teeth, but dental hygienists usually take care of that.

Dentists provide the following care:

  • conduct and interpret dental X-rays
  • fill cavities
  • repair cracked teeth
  • promote oral health and oral hygiene
  • fill and bond teeth
  • treat gum disease, such as gingivitis
  • prescribe treatment, including prescription drugs, for oral health conditions
  • whiten teeth
  • install crowns or veneers
  • oversee the development of children’s teeth
  • perform oral surgery

WHAT DO ORTHODONTISTS DO?

Orthodontists are also doctors of oral health. Technically, they’re a kind of dentist with a specialty in tooth and jaw alignment. Certified orthodontists are trained to diagnose and treat oral health conditions of your teeth, gums, and mouth. But mostly, orthodontists focus on making sure your teeth and jaw are set correctly.

Orthodontists do the following:

  • supervise facial growth (jawline and bite) in children
  • diagnose and treat misaligned teeth and jaws (malocclusion)
  • create a treatment plan that includes braces and retainers
  • perform teeth straightening surgery
  • install dental appliances, such as braces, palatal expanders, orthodontic headgear, or Herbst appliances

INTERCEPTIVE ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN (AGE SIX)

April 21st, 2021

Some of the most direct results of age 6 interceptive ORTHODONTIC EARLY TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN are:

  • Creates room for crowded, erupting teeth by expanding the upper and lower jaws (usually with no soreness at all)

  • Creates facial symmetry by influencing jaw growth. Yes, Dr. Fox can make the lower jaw grow forward (to correct upper teeth that stick out because the lower jaw is receded), or the upper jaw grow forward (to correct bulldog bites), and avoid jaw surgery if done at age 6. At age 9 or older it may be too late for the jaws to respond to Dr Fox’s techniques.

  • Reduces the risk of trauma to protruding front teeth from a sports ball hitting them or wrestling around at home or on the playground

  • Preserves space for unerupted teeth, especially when baby teeth fall out earlier than expected or some get extracted due to decay

  • Reduces the need for tooth removal in the teen years, and braces to give a full and wide smile

  • Cuts orthodontic treatment time with braces in the teenage

Orthodontic Treatment for Children

When Dr. Fox, the five-star-rated orthodontist, can evaluate your child’s mouth by age six, that gives him the time to perform orthodontic treatment so your child will have BRACES for the shortest amount of time possible during his or her teen years, to achieve a beautiful result and smart investment.

Coronavirus: Dentists Know About Glasses Fogging w/ Masks & Why People Not Cover Their Nose w/Mask

Coronavirus why people do not cover their nose with a mask and how to keep your glasses from fogging up while wearing a mask. Hello, this is Dr Donald box orthodontist at Fort Lauderdale beach, Florida, where you could read more about my credentials @ reallystraightwhiteteeth.com and also at my website on the blog page. There are videos that I've done as getting the chloride, a virus out of your mouth, nose and throat and much more. I know you have seen it. People wearing a mask on their nose is not covered. Their nose, which defeats the whole purpose, they're breathing coronavirus into the air, which is the main purpose of the face mask. Plus they have an increased risk of breathing the virus into their nose. One reason for this is they do not have the mask fully stretched vertically like I'm going to show you right now. So basically you stretch it this way and you put it on while wearing a mask like this and you stretch it this way.

I wear a sports mass with a m99 filter with two respirator valves that look like this. But for the sake of this video, I'm going to show you a typical surgical mask and here's how you put it on again and you have to stretch it vertically like a Venetian blind, and then press the metal portion of the nose down so it fits tight inside the edge of the mass down on your nose so that properly fits the bridge of your nose. Most of the masks are only one size, and if your head is medium size or small, the mask will not be tight. Now I have a large head, but if your head is medium or small, the mask will then fall off your nose up here. How you handle this as you take the loop right here that's going around your ear and twist it and put it back on.

And then on the other side you do the same thing. You crisscross it and you put it back on, which makes the mask tight on your face than it was before. So you can actually do this and crisscross it on both sides that you've been to and three times to make it even tighter, but make sure it doesn't get too tight. And then of course pushed back down here. You should always wear a mask after you wash your face by the way. But if you have to do this crisscross cross string and if you have a small extreme size, small head. Another reason that people don't wear a mask over their nose is that they're claustrophobic. And some people know they're claustrophobic and others know they aren't, but they know sometimes they just feel weird and they don't know why, but it's because they're claustrophobic and they can't breathe well.

I wish there was a way to let me know what is in my mailbox, especially if I'm expecting that check from the government or a bill or that birthday card I've been waiting for.

I cover with you later in this video, because there's a new app that's free. When you go get your mail, try to use your gloves and if not, wash your hands afterwards. When I bring the mail inside my home, I'd take it to the bath tub or the shower stall and I use one part Clorox and 10 parts water in a spray bottle that you can purchase from home Depot for $2 and like I say, you just put this much Clorox and the rest water. By the way, I use this solution on almost everything to save the Lysol spray and fantastic spray on items that are more important. I sprayed things like boxes, canned goods from the grocery store, egg cartons and more. I laid the items down on the bottom of the bath tub or shower saw including the mail and I sprayed them with the Clorox solution and then I turned them over to get the other side and let them set for at least 10 minutes.

Coronavirus What Physicians and Dentists Know About Washing Their Hands That Patients and The Public Should Know

April 7th, 2020

Coronavirus what physicians and dentists know about washing their hands that patients and the public should know.

Hello, this is Dr. Donald Fox in Fort Lauderdale beach, Florida.

I received the American Cancer Society Award for the highest scores on pathology examinations over a two-year period. I also received the Southeastern Board of Prosthodontics Award for outstanding achievements, contributions, and performance in prosthodontics (false teeth). I was recognized for my research with oral surgeon Dr. Robert Campbell on patients who experienced numbness in their lower lip and chin after jaw surgery, wisdom teeth extractions, and broken jaws. For this, I was awarded the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award.More credentials can be found here >.

The more you wash your hands during the day, the better you'll be. And finding this coronavirus many questions I'm asked are, do I use warm water, hot water, or cold water? And my hands are getting so dry. They hurt from washing them all the time and what soaps should I use and what's the best technique to wash my hands over 31 years ago in my training, I was surprised to find out it's best to use cold water to wash your hands, warm or hot water opens the pores to your skin and allows the viruses and the bacteria to enter into your body. Also, warm or hot water takes the essential oils out of your hands and causes dry skin faster.

As them getting dried out, you can use a hand cream of any sort like the one I have here, which is from Burt Bees and you spread it all over your hands like this and be sure that you work it in all the way because then I put on gloves over my hands so that I don't have to wash them as often during the day. It's easier to wash my gloves than it is to continue washing my hands because my hands were getting too dried out on my hands and started to hurt, especially on the back sides here. If I'm in the office seeing emergency patients, I change my gloves and then wash my hands in between every patient and then I do the same routine and put new gloves on. As far as what soaps to use, hospital and dentist offices, we use use a aide, septic or sterilization soaps.

But with the Coronavirus, the outside of the virus has a fat outer skin that the covers the virus. So this fat breaks down easily with most soap. So soaps aren't that particular. But if I use a soap from whole foods, which comes in like a little square here and it's very gentle and doesn't have any perfumes or sense, that's works very good because you're not allergic to it. Then if I've touched something that I know is very dirty, then I use a foam soap that I get from target and you have to have this dispenser along with this particular, from this um, target because the phone needs to get inside your fingernails right around the corners and right where the skin meets the nails. And more importantly, right here on the knuckles here and here where there's wrinkles. Most of the dentists in the country were on a lecture last week and we're showing the dentist who washed his hands and looked like he did a very good job, but before he washed his hands, they put on this very invisible liquid that when it was placed on his hands and after he washed his hands, they use an ultraviolent blue light that showed anywhere.

He did not wash his hands and all along where the skin meets the nails and on the knuckles on the top of these knuckles here and here, they didn't get all that liquid off. So, um, those, the viruses and bacterias can get in there. So you need to wash fully. Women watching this video may not like what I have to say, but 30 years ago there was a research done in dentistry that we took proactive measures and one of them was that men and women should not have their nails very long and they should only be a one eight and showed that white part that sticking out above the rest of the nail. In other words, the nails are cut very, very short. This allows to get the bacteria and viruses and back at that time the AIDS virus from underneath the fingernails. If you have long painted nails that isn't good.

Also, research also showed that veneer nails, and you can look this up on Google, were not allowed because of having dirty viruses and bacteria hiding under these veneer nails and are highly recommend that you remove your veneer nails at this point in what we're going through and cut your finger down and fingernails down very short so that you don't pass the bars onto other people or to yourself. Put the bars in your mouth, nose or eyes. Another key technique is always wash your face with bar soap above your eyebrows and on the sides and on the front of your face. So you get into the habit of washing your face first and then you wash your hands using the foam soap. So I use the bar soap on my face and then you use the phone soap in the knuckles and the foam gets all around in the nails here.

And if you have a little toothbrush, you can even scrub around the little nails a little bit and what you end up doing is pretty much like a equivalent to like the surgeons do when they're getting ready to go into surgery. You hear them talking about that they're getting ready to scrub up for surgery but you're going to be using a toothbrush. Then I use Burt's bees baby shampoo to wash my eyebrows, my eyelids and eyelashes. Yes. If you haven't figured it out by now, I don't recommend women to be putting on a lot of makeup at this time because if you do your face, wash it and wash around your eyes with the baby shampoo, um, you'll keep your face and wash. But with the makeup on you have to keep putting the makeup back on even though it's baby shampoo when you use it.

I do not recommend washing your eyeballs. Don't get that carried away cause it's too much and it's just going to hurt because I wear eye contacts, I use saline solution and flood my eyeballs. I open my eyelids apart like this and I flush my eyes out with saline solution before I put my contacts in and it makes it feel better in the morning when I do that. Also, don't forget to wash your face before you put your mask on so you don't contaminate the inside of your mask, especially if you're having to reuse your mask. Your mass can also be sprayed on the outside with Lysol without drenching it so that you do at about 12 inches away. Here's your mask and here's the spray so that the coronavirus is killed on the outside, the mask when you're going to reuse it because many of us don't have many mass and you end up touching it again later on.

I highly recommend also that doctors and nurses that only have one mass per day or they have to reuse a mask over and over for a week or a surgical mass over and over for a day, and that's, that's true. They only get one per day is to put a towel first over the outside of the mask and then you then put the mask on with the paper towel on the outside and tuck it in around the edges. If you get it tight against your face, you can trim the inside of it with some scissors so that you're not only having the paper towel on the outside so that when you take your mask off, you throw the paper towel away that has the coronavirus on it and then you put a new paper towel on. When you go to put the same mask back on again, this is a lot more hygienic and not worry about all the splatter or spit that somehow is in the air.

If you're working on a dental patient, if you're a dentist or if you're an emergency room physician and you get some sort of a blood splatter or any moisture on the outside of the mass and then you, it's hard for you to reuse that mask and you'll feel a lot safer. You can even take dental paper bibs that dentists we use on the patient's chest and one side of the paper has plastic and one side has a the plastic on it and then what you do is you put the paper side outward. This will not allow any blood or spit to seep through and get on the and on the outer part of your surgical mass or you're in n95 mask. This would be an awesome technique under the circumstances until we get enough surgical mass and in n95 mask for all of our healthcare workers, which may still be four to eight weeks from now.

This is now April the fifth that I'm doing this video. I hope this helped again, go to really straight white teeth.com to see previous videos on how to get the coronavirus out of your mouth, nose and throat videos. Another one, how to make a paper towel in a matter of three to four minutes and also how not to overdose with Tylenol or Acetaminophen while drinking alcohol with the flu or with the coronavirus. It only takes a little bit of Tylenol to overdose. Very dangerous.

Stay healthy. Dr. Donald Fox in Fort Lauderdale beach, Florida. Thank you.

For this, I was awarded the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award.More credentials can BE FOUND HERE - https://www.reallystraightwhiteteeth.com

I've released a book on how to stop children from thumb sucking. It's written towards mothers and the book is easily read and about three or four hours by a mother and they apply it to the child and the child stops some sucking within about one hour. Um, now I want to show you a graph that last week a webinar with all the orthodontists and dentists were at um, about three to four days ago. And this graph here and I was in my video that I just released yesterday, um, talks about the virus that this person's infected can cough and go about two, two feet, three feet and go to the ground because it's a large particle, a medium sized particles sneezed as it goes here up to six feet. But here are tiny little particles that float in the air that go as much as 10 feet. And yes, then we were told that they stay in the air for two, three hours. Now, with that being said, these, you have to think of this like cigarette smoke or when you go into the bathroom and use some Glade pressure and two hours later you come back into a room where there's a cigarette smoker or someone that's used that bathroom and you can still smell the smell because it's in the air. It's not gone to the floor yet.

So the point is is these smaller particles go 10 feet in the air and there's people that are working in the workplace still, or they're going over their friend's house or they're even outside and the wind's not blowing. They're all standing around with a bunch of, which I love dogs, but everybody's like two feet away breathing and you're breathing their coronavirus that they have it. Not many people know that they have the coronavirus until about day five or six when they have a sore throat. But there's many, many people that don't get any symptoms and they have it. Also. You go on an elevator and the door closes and now you realize you're breathing the air of someone else who was in the elevator in the past two hours. Especially. You get on one that somebody just got off. So yes, you're breathing.

The coronavirus is getting into your mouth, on your clothes and your hair. Um, this has gotta be taken more seriously, even outside, I don't even walk down when from somebody, if I'm walking in this in the afternoon here at Fort Lauderdale beach cause I'm downwind from someone that they are breathing and then it's coming into my space and I breathe their air. Um, this also leads to why you should wear a mask. The first thought you have is, well, I don't want to wear a mask because I don't have n95 or n99 mass, which has a little valve on the side here or here, right in the front. And so that allows you to breathe. So I'm not going to wear one that Surgeon General told me not to wear. One is, you know, the surgical mask don't work. yes, they leak a little bit, but we're going to go into that. I want to start today forming a campaign of everyone going viral with this video to start making homemade mass. And I'm going to show you how, and it's real simple. Other people have done it, but I'm gonna show you it in this video anyway because the virus can not only come out from touching things, but I wanted to stop on the inside of everyone's mass, but everybody's got to wear one. That's crazy. Come on, let's wake up. Let's, let's do this. Let's start making a mask & start wearing a mask.

Acetaminophen & Paracetamol Overdose with Coronavirus and Alcohol

Acetaminophen & Paracetamol Overdose with Coronavirus and Alcohol

Is Tylenol better than Advil Coronavirus?

Hello, this is Dr. Donald Fox in Fort Lauderdale beach, Florida.

I also received the Southeastern Board of Prosthodontics Award for outstanding achievements, contributions, and performance in prosthodontics (false teeth). For this, I was awarded the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award.More credentials can be found here >.

Hello, this is Dr. Donald Fox. This is Wednesday night, April 1st of the month, already 2020. I'm an orthodontists and award winning researcher in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. You can go to www.reallystraightwhiteteeth.com and see my credentials where you'll see that I graduated number one in my dental class at the medical college of Virginia and did a residency at university of Tennessee in orthodontics. It is there where my master's degree research and the cause of birth defects by acetaminophen, which is all of a sudden known as Paracetamol or Tylenol where birth defects were noted from animal studies that were carried out the same way as the FDA does, but they were doing a very archaic way. We actually use, computers and we use x-rays and we confirmed that there were birth defects on these were animal studies. A caution has given on humans taking Tylenol and we also found out that the drug is a very big molecule. So, therefore if you take it while drinking or the next day for a hangover or if you've had the flu, this large size molecule, let's just get the guy idea. That molecule was this long. I'm just, you know, being showing you an Advil and aspirin is this long. So the molecule of this drug is so big, the liver has a hard time dealing with it. How am I able to talk to you about this? This is the largest master's thesis in the history of the university of Tennessee and over 90 years, this is over three inches thick that I won world research awards. It is also recognized by the university of Michigan human body growth center. Uh, the animal studies had over 100,000 measurements and verified that caution should be given to women taking this because most women who take this on the 13th day of pregnancy, they don't even know they're pregnant and caused all these problems.

The animals had severe rate of stillbirths, which the FDA States a drug with this rate of stillbirth is not supposed to be on the market. I'm not advocating to take it off the market. I just say it doesn't have enough warning labels about this. It is not a safe drug to take while pregnant. That's my belief. This recharge was recognized by the highest research award given by the hairy sister award by the American association of orthodontists. The Warren's right over on this way, on the behind me, on the wall and all the other wards behind me are also for this research. You can also find it as a thesis, uh, at the library of uh, American association of orthodontists in Chicago. Any drug you use must be metabolized and broken down into smaller chemicals by the liver. The liver has a very hard time breaking this huge acetaminophin molecule down.

When you have the flu or any virus like the coronavirus are even been drinking because it puts the liver in a weakened state and then you pump some Tylenol and even at the regular doses that they recommend, it can be damaging to the liver. You go on Google and put liver damage from acetaminophen overdoses and suicide, you'll be shocked what you read. This has been going on since 1977 I believe in the drug as a pain drug. But it's not given the public enough warning. You can also look and find that in England in 1977 it was called the black play cause something was going on there where people were depressed. And what happened is people started committing suicide with it. You can actually cause suicide with just this much pills a little bit more. It depends on the person and their other medical condition.

So much so that the big bottles like this a long time ago that in England and other European countries they made um, Tylenol company and acetaminophen couldn't come in big bottles cause they were trying to decrease the overdosage. So anyway, I think the label should be used to warn the public. But let's move on to why we're talking about this and the Coronavirus is that the concern today is that the Coronavirus is also being discussed about you should be, not taken ibuprofen there. There's French doctors that advise against use of ibuprofen, which comes as Motrin, Advil and other generic aversions. But based on the reports of other healthy people that have confirmed with Corona, the Covad 19 virus, that they somehow got a worse than condition and also the pneumonia. They're only observations and still yet there's all in, there's no base scientific studies who, which has been overseeing this whole, uh, pandemic with the coronavirus as recommended using a Siena manifest as a ibuprofen.

But now with rapid changes and recommendations create uncertainty, uh, the doctors now are a little bit more prudent and they're actually saying that they, you can take ibuprofen also so that if you do use a SITA manifests, they recommend a total dose, not exceeding 3000 milligrams. Um, basically what that is, is each one of the pills here is 500 milligrams. So you take two pills a day, two pills every six hours, um, but you don't want to take it every six hours. You, you would not take it like before bed or somewhere because right there, if you have the flu, you shouldn't be taken over six pills in one day. And what's going to happen is I've seen it before his people go, I got a little bit of a headache or I got a little bit of flu. Oh, I'm going to take a lot more of these.

So they like to, I'm going to take four and five. No, no, no. The liver can't handle that. Even on the side of this that I just showed you right here, I read it, um, States at no more than, uh, eight pills in one day. But otherwise if you take more than six, they also say you need to contact your doctor because with the flu, your liver is going to be in a compromised situation. The other thing is that even says overdose warnings on the label, you need to read these labels also. You can't drink more than three or more alcoholic drinks. I don't recommend drinking at all with Tylenol. Knowing what I know. And there's also some of the class action shoots involving the damage of the liver with Tylenol out of Atlanta law firm that I was involved with that I sent them my thesis and how much they used it.

I don't know, but they are definitely aware that this problem exists. I, to me, it's a safe drug. Advil, I believe as a safer drug. If he asked me, um, am I gonna take, if I get the Coronavirus or I get any flu, um, I'm taking Advil. I really am. And if you suspect that you're allergic or some other problem with acetaminophen, you should take Advil also. So the purposes videos educate you, you go on Google, you find out the truth by yourself. I try to narrow this down as much as I can. I do feel I am an expert with acetaminophen Paracetamol it's all the same name. They, all these drugs are given names. I don't know whether to confuse us or why it is, but they're all Tylenol, Acetaminophen Paracetamol, I believe the liver has a hard time breaking this down and I'll, I'll take Advil. Add goal, um, is used mainly in discomfort by the way, but uh, Tylenol is great for pain. Like if you break your leg. Also, if you're having a hard time of stress and your drink, and please don't be taking a Tylenol when you've been drinking. I want to thank you for watching this video. Again, my name is Dr. Donald Fox, orthodontists and Fort Lauderdale beach. I have 10 locations from Boca Raton to South beach. Have a good evening.

Remove Coronavirus From Your Mouth, Throat & Nose by Dr Donald Fox

(Please share this video)

Hi, This is Dr Donald Fox orthodontists in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Sorry to come to you under these circumstances we're having with the Corona virus.

Let me introduce myself real quick.

I graduated number one in my dental class in Richmond, Virginia, Medical College of Virginia, and then I went to the University of Tennessee, where I did my research, right now I'm in current in private practice and with Invisalign.

Early cases with teenagers and adult braces & Children, My specialty is helping Jaws to grow in little patients at age six, where their faces aren't growing correctly.

I have offices from Boca Raton down the Miami Beach, 10 offices.

My website is www.reallystraightwhiteteeth.com

And there you will see videos about some of the things I'm talking about, especially on how to brush flaws.

Let's jump to what the problem is now.

I keep seeing in the past three weeks about people educating us on TV and on the Internet about not touching our face and get in the virus in our mouth, nose and eyes touching things were cleaning things.

The timeline of the exposure, his really needs to be made clear to the public right now is that once this gets to your mouth 3 to 4 days later, the virus is multiplying and growing.

It's growing itself.

It splits and it makes another one, and you have hundreds of these in your mouth.

And then four days later it goes to your throat.

And this has been shown that 80 to 90% of the way the virus gets to your lungs is this way.

It doesn't just jump right into the air into your lungs.

10% we believe it does, but 80 to 90% of the cases that is what we're seeing.

There is even a guy on Fox News last night on March 28 and he basically is, ah, surgeon or, ah, emergency room position stating that we've got to stop touching our face.

But the problem is no one's address, and once it's in the mouth and throat and knows how to get rid of it, So anyway, if it makes it today five.

That's when you get the sore throat.

If you may not get a sore throat, but then from day six and goes to your lungs Day 10 you're at the hospital.

So we want to stop this once and get it out of your mouth.

And I believe there's some making it into the mouth.

And then somehow we eat, drink, brush our teeth and stuff.

But what i'ma show you is how to effectively get it all out, and no one's addressing this.

So once you, get this, you also should realize that the particles that we are coming in contact with this was on a webinar from America Association of Orthodontists, with all the work that honest in the United States was on this three days ago that a person infected can cough and it goes three feet to the ground, and then it goes about five feet to the ground if you sneeze.

But if you are, it says right on here.

If you talk, spit, breathes, sneeze or call, even breathing.

There's these micro particles that filter in the air like smoke cigarettes, or it just hangs in the air, can hang in the air for 2 to 3 hours, and it actually can go 10 heat.

So these people I keep seeing that are hanging around in groups, so they walk their dog and they're like, three feet away from each other.

This thing is spreading, and I believe and I've always believed this thing is more airborne.

And this was convinced What I thought is this The CDC is confirmed this that if you get on the elevator and semi was on there recently, um, even an hour ago, it's in the air and everyone needs to wear a mask and we'll go into the mass thing a little bit at the end.

Um, so my point is, is we got to take this a little bit more Sears as airborne.

I don't want you stand inside.

That started.

You should go outside, but let's go jump to these steps.

How do we get this out of your mouth?

The first step is we wanna hand brush or electric brush If you have a battery brush.

I don't believe in battery brushes.

If you screw this and batteries drop out, you got the wrong brushing.

The electric brush, her hand brush and you need to brush the teeth and the gum.

So you didn't need to go from one side all the way around to the other side on then the tea to go one side all the way around to the other side.

Don't be jumping around because you're gonna miss.

And then, of course, you got to go from one side to the other on the tongue side and then do the lower.

So once you do that, you rinse with warm water and then you gargle with more mortar.

The next step is you want to take a tongue scraper.

That's what one of these are.

This one's very flexible.

It won't break, but they have plastic cheaper ones that do break.

And then you reach in and you scrape the back of your tongue as far as you can without gagging yourself forward and you'll see this film come off.

It takes a good seven scrapes, and then you put your tongue back in, which then the tongues in here, where the coroner viruses in the throat, and then you keep bringing out your tongue for five times and do that over and over to get nothing off of it.

And then, of course, you're running water on this to get it off.

So now you've gotten everything out of your teeth and off of your tongue.

The next thing you want to do is get a water Pik.

If you don't have a water pick this big, you'll have to figure out how much you're gonna do what I'm telling you.

If you don't and you can't find one, you can use two cups of water, warm water and then do what I'm telling you.

Rinse.

But please do not gargle with us.

What?

I'm getting ready to tell you and do not swallow it.

But you're not gonna get sick and you're not gonna die.

But you want to fill this up with warm water almost hot.

The Corona virus doesn't like anything above 80 degrees and that's great.

What you want to do is then take a tablespoon, not a small teaspoon, a big table spoon and then what you want to do is take 1/2 a table spoon of Clorox bleach.

Don't get horrified by this.

You're not gonna die.

Then what you do is you put that in the warm water.

Do not put the warm water and last or go foam up and you won't be able to get everything into the water pick.

Then you want to use a mouth wash or scope, and put a whole tablespoon of that into the warm water, not hot water.

And then you want a water pic, and then what you're gonna do, You don't need to stir it up.

And you may have to put the water pic on the medium setting first, cause your gums are gonna believe you've never used one or it hurts.

And then in about a week, it should be able to do it on high setting, and then your gums will stop bleeding pretty much on the 14th day.

So what you're gonna do is you're gonna water Pik.

You'll put the pick and right here than here and here.

You don't want to be back here given the teeth a shower, Then you're gonna do nothing.

After you go from right to left, then you're going to do the right to left on the tongue.

And yet the feeling going between the teeth like your gloss and then you do the lower you don't need to be doing any gloss in for right now if you do this every day and I'm recommending this to be done twice a day, and it's it works now.

I want to give recognition to this step right here because Mark Macaulay and Tom Collie, have researched.

They take  Q tips and wipe your gums.

They put this under a microscope to look, and they show you your bacteria and all in your mouth and 3 to 4 weeks you come back after doing this.

There's nothing in your mouth cause it kills all the viruses.

So that is unbelievable.

That has not been known yet all in dentistry.

And not that many people know about it, but we d'oh!

But this is a perfect time for everybody to start doing this routine not only to get your gum disease handle, but to kill the Koran of ours, all in your mouth.

You, After you finish, you use warm water to rinse your mouth out.

Then you use one mortar again, the gargle a couple of times.

That's just to get the guard.

The chlorine taste out, even though you use a little bit of mouthwash.

So the next step you want to do,

It's gonna seem a little weird, we've gotta handle inside the nose.

I do not believe in a teapot.

Could do this important.

You knows you want to use the neo mad Sinus rents becomes with a plastic bottle.

You Philip the bottom with warm water.

Border Don't do hot.

It's gonna burn.

You're not like your nose is sensitive.

And then you put one of these little packets in here, and basically, it's a special mix of salt you can't use table salt is gonna burn If you use use warm water with this or you pour it in with a teapot.

It's gonna burn.

It's gone.

I've done it.

I ran out of there just one time, and I used this one board in there and I could not tell you.

I believe I believe you.

Tell you how hot it was how much it burned.

The other thing to warn you is do not use this if you get ready to get on the air flight in three days because the water still lingers around on the inside of your years on the other side of your drum and the pressure will kill you.

How do I know?

I went to fly to Tampa one time and on the plane was going down down down cabin pressure and I felt like somebody was putting a knife in my ear and I was crying and yelling and screaming like a little kid.

It hurts.

Do not do that either.

So my point.

All this.

When you do this, you want to stick the not this up your nose like this, and squeeze the bottle slowly and all that's gonna rush out.

You're gonna be over a saint.

Do not do it too fast.

You don't want the pressure on your ears.

Then you want Lean your head over like this and then blow gently.

Let all they come out of this nose than over here.

Hold this nose blow gently.

Do not blow too hard because you're gonna perch your ear drums later on.

Don't be surprised if you bend over and tie your shoes and your bending way over and like, a lot of fluid could rush out.

If you in about 10 minutes, you should go like this like that and snort through your nose and then you can swallow Spit it.

If you swallow the Corona virus, that ain't going to do anything.

But I recommend you to spit it out.

And then after that, if you blow your nose that this will make your nose a little running a little bit.

Be sure you wash your face like I've told you before and wash your wash your hands so that leads me to The last thing is is the last step.

Before we go into that, I want you to go back, and when you wash your face hands, wash your face all up in here.

But all up around your eyebrows on on your eyelids and your eyelashes, you should just use a little bit of Burt's bees.

You can get any baby shampoo.

Must you have baby shampoo in the house because you have Children?

Just put a little dab a little dot here, use a little warm water and get it sudsy, and it feels that I do this every morning on my life anyway for put my contacts in and I rent my eyes out with saline solution.

So I don't put my contacts and on the scummy stuff in my eyes.

But do not get this on the inside of your islands or got balls because it is not going to feel good.

It's not necessary.

The last step of my tell you is gonna be a little controversial because But I've seen some things wise.

I asked myself, Been watching the spread of this over to the United States, wise in Russia getting in this a lot.

Well, Russia.

One of things I've always known.

They believe in honey.

And so do I. I don't believe it as much as they do.

But I tell you something, the honey is anything to do with this.

But you can see the honey brings something to the throat that you're gonna take with the honey.

The point is, is that you can actually take a tablespoon of raw honey.

This is raw, honey.

It's dark brown honey, that's been filtered and don't have all the natural characteristics in it.

You get this a target, by the way, um, is light lighter if you don't have anything but the light.

Good.

Use that.

But you want raw honey you wanna take a tablespoon, Not a small teaspoon and dip it down.

So you got this half of the spoon covered with honey Pretty good on this half.

What you're gonna do is squeeze 1/2 a lemon or half a lime, or you can get lemon.

Juice, they also have this at target.

It's called Real Lemon.

It's 100% real Juice and you on the back part of the spoon.

You fill it up with some lemon juice, or you could squeeze a lemon or lime.

You put it in your mouth.

Usual lips.

Get it off.

Don't steer it up because it gets in your mouth.

It's from a stir on its own.

And then what you do is you.

About five seconds, you reach back and you gargle with it is long as you can and then swallow.

And then you do this again.

What does this do?

This, honey, actually coach your throat.

And if you do this after this, the last step in the morning after you've had your breakfast, then you do this and I could drink a retaining for a couple hours a coach or throat with the lemon juice which has citric acid in it, and the citric acid kills the Corona virus and the kind of virus that comes in there during this period and gonna live and gonna make.

And it's not gonna replicate or make you know other viruses from one virus.

The next thing is, you do it also at night when I do this whole routine and the last thing I make sure I'm ready to go to sleep and put my head on the pillow.

Last thing I do is the honey and the lemon, and it cuts my throat all night long so that virus didn't have a chance to grow.

So anyway, that's pretty much it.

I wanted to keep this under 15 minutes, which I have on the last thing to tell you.

A mass is Yes, we don't have mask all of us, but you can actually take a paper towel.

They have this on Google and Facebook, and you fold it a certain way, and then the edges of it.

You then fold it over and you staple rubber band.

And then you have an accordion type thing, the way you fold it.

And now you got yourself a mass.

The mask is not for you not to get the virus because the virus is in the air.

Is I told you it's just sitting there 2 to 3 hours and it gets in from around the Mask, until all of us could get an N 95 or N 99 sports mask, That's tight It has ventilator holes on it.

Until then you I recommend to do the paper towel thing, and then the paper towel thing is gonna keep you from breathing your Corona virus out to everybody else, sneezing on people and coughing, particularly breathing, breathing and people at home and work here each other.

We've got to stop spreading it.

I'm not concerned about someone given to Me.

I don't want to give it to another.

I think that's what we all are thinking.

But please try this paper towel technique until we all get mask, just like they did in Korea, South Korea and China, where they've decreased this problem and we got ours continue to get worse.

So we got to stop the spread, but we gotta keep This is three stages, which is keeping off our body.

Keep it off our hands, keeping out of the mouth, Stage Two.

We gotta keep it out of the mouth, out of the nose, out of the throat.

And heaven forbid, we're trying to keep it from reaching Stage Three.

We don't want the virus to go into our lungs.

Anyway.

I hope this helps.

And again from Fort Lauderdale.

This is Dr Donald Fox, Orthodontist. Much love, good luck & stay healthy.

Invisalign For Difficult Cases

Invisalign For Difficult Cases.

Hi, this is Dr. Donald Fox. I'm an orthodontist in South Florida. I have offices from Deerfield beach near Boca Raton, all the way to South beach. Today what I wanted to discuss with you is how you can do Invisalign with complicated cases. Many patients come to me who have been told they can't have Invisalign. Let's go over some of the simple things in this video. One of them is a person comes in and this is a model of the upper and lower teeth and the lower teeth are all crooked and you don't want, there's no way to do this without taking teeth out. But what you can do is, and it's kind of unreal to hear this, but we can actually take out one front, lower tooth and we put on metal braces on the lower cause last time when people smile and talk, they don't even show their lower teeth.

So we do the treatment, but it has to be done with lower braces because the Invisalign trays, you get one every two weeks, only move your teeth about 0.25 millimeters per tray. Braces move teeth faster than that. So this is Invisalign by the way. So there's also one for the lower, but the plastic will not move. When we take out this front lower tooth, the bone is going to be so thin that the teeth, the bone will start disappearing before we get the space close. So what we did is we use metal braces on the lower, we put them on first so that we take out the tooth and then within a week or last we start moving right away cause you can't be running around with a hole in your mouth and the bone will start dissolving away. If you don't show it back up for two months or you get the 2001st and then you put the lower brace on, that's bad too.

So we put the braces on first metal and we get the tooth removed and we line it up. Of course only at the teeth are so crooked that we don't have enough space to line up the teeth in a matter of four months, five months. We then switched you over, we take the braces off and then we've put the upper and lower. Invisalign. okay. And then we do the treatment on that. The second problem I see all the time, um, is that if you look at this upper teeth, this is OPERS. And this tooth here, the canine, the canine is a very unusual tooth that's very long. It has the longest root. So what you see here in the mouth is a certain height. But what you don't see up in the bone is the root. So the teeth are like this lined up, okay?

But the canine is like this, but many patients all of a sudden come in and their root is like this on the upper canine and the tooth. Instead of being what you see, like my hand here, this canine is actually rotated. So you have a rotation problem and the root problem and the plastic tray here cannot grab a hold of the tooth. Like this is a tooth. It just can't grab it and turn it and move the root as if the root is my arm. So, um, what we again are showing you on this model is the roots like this, but the patient has the root like this and the plastic has a hard time moving that very long, big route. And the place a lot of dentists, um, by the way, general dentist do Invisalign. I've only had a one day course. Uh, they're not fully trained, embraces, they didn't have any training really in school.

I'm not saying all of them, but I'm saying both. Um, so they're, they're doing the Invisalign, which is a little bit out of their expertise and the actually what they're doing is having Invisalign, um, tell them what to do and they're putting everything in the treatment hands of the, um, the company. And not all the doctors are at Invisalign and looking at every case. There's the many technicians. So you need to know the truth about that. But why am I saying this? Is because you can go to 10 different general dentists and then come to me and then I would tell you like, um, we can't do Invisalign alone because of your upper canine is rotated. But what we do is we, like if it's the upper canine, we can put upper clear braces on the three or four months and then switch you over after we get the route in a better alignment.

If the route gets moved that fast, sometimes it takes seven or eight months and then we can do the upper and lower. And Invisalign, the same thing can happen on the lower canines. So we see that most often. Like that canine right here or this one over here, and again, the root is not lined up. So we have the teeth are like straight like this, this, this, this. But the canine is like this. It's slightly tipped. The route is slightly tipped to the back of their mouth, but the patient comes in and the roots like this, and again, from when you looked down the tooth doesn't like this, it's turn. So we've got two, three, two problems that are three dimensional problems that Invisalign knows. They can't fully correct that and they know it. And the, and the rotation, some teeth are so rotated, they, they cannot turn teeth that are more than 35 degrees.

Here's your zero degrees. Um, let me turn my hand. Zero. This is 45 and then all the way is, um, um, well this is zero. This is 90. So you know, in geometry you have 90 is this 45 degrees is this Invisalign has a hard time rotating a tooth that's only 30 degrees or more. So what we do in those situations, again put on the braces to handle the rotations and to get those properly handled and then switch the patient over 10 busy line. So, um, I hope this helped because um, many patients don't know that they can come see me and I can try to figure out a problem so that they can still have Invisalign. I deal with a lot of celebrities, um, can exactly give you their names, but um, somehow I can prove it to you. Um, I deal with a lot of lawyers.

Lawyers don't want braces in court. There was even shows like a LA law and all where there's a lawyer as braces on and the judge thinks less of him or not as powerful of a person or something. Two lawyers dialogue, lawyers like braces, but I deal with them and I deal with celebrities who don't want it to be seen with the braces or not for so long. Um, and we do different other things to try to unmask the problem. One other thing is Invisalign does not widen the mouth as wide as if you can use the fixed or removable expanders. We use removable expanders that are virtually, uh, clear. Uh, they don't hurt so we can widen the mouth so that the teeth fill up the width of your mouth because a busy line can only widen about that much versus we have expanders that can wide as much as this and avoid extractions, get all the teeth to fit were Invisalign, wasn't going to work. So again, um, I hope this help again, this is Dr. Donald Fox orthodontist. I'm a orthodontic specialists and braces. I treat children as early as age seven for geography problems. Um, but particularly you can go to my website at www.reallystraightwhiteteeth.com, and find the location of one of my offices and come visit me to do an exam. And, and especially if you'd been to someone, they said you couldn't have Invisalign. Anyway, thank you for listening to this again. I hope this help.

Damage Caused By Thumb Suck

Damage Caused By Thumb Suck, Dr Donald Fox Orthodontist South Florida

Hi, this is Dr. Donald Fox, orthodontists and expert on how to get your child to stop Thumb sucking, fingers sucking, time sucking and Binky pacifiers. Yes, there is a technology out now that I've actually developed. I've tripped over those 25 years ago and it's in my new book called Stop Thumb Suck Revolution. It's saw an available at Barnes and noble, Apple and Amazon, which also you have uh, odd books and also nook. It's in digital and paperback. The purpose of this video today is to teach you the different damages that can be done by thumb sucking. Thumb sucking is supposed to stop at age two. Even in the certain articles you may read on the internet says he can go up to age five and no problems. That's not true. I've seen this, I've been doing this for 31 years. I consider myself an expert in the field of number of people.

Not only that, I've gotten to stop thumb suck usually within one hour to one week, but all the damage op repaired and it has to, the damage has to be repaired starting at age six or seven, not age 10 or 12 if your child comes in with the damage done from thumb sucking or finger sucking a, the [inaudible] going to end up having jaw surgery. I'm gonna tell you that ahead of time or we're not. This is not something you want the permanent teeth to come into the damaged area where the baby teeth work. So we're going to go over that right now. How does the damage occur? First of all, this is a mouth and the mouth has a certain width across here and across the bottom. So when a child sucks, so this muscle here called the bucks Nader, you can look this up, B, U, C, C, I N a T O R goes in and it causes the mouth on the lower and the upper to get squished and next thing you know the mouth is too skinny and there's not enough room to the teeth at age six.

Then now the mouth has to be widened with certain devices. I use plastic devices that are economical. They don't cause as much and they don't hurt hardly at all. A lot of people use fix expanders. I'd just agree with them. The research says stop using them years ago because they expand too fast. So I believe in slow expansion over a five to six month period. The second, um, problem is that when a child puts their thumb in their mouth, here's the upper teeth and then their jaw can't get to the normal place anymore. So now their jaw is back and this actually about putting the thumb in the mouth keeps the jaw back and now even if you get the thumb out of there, the jaw will not grow out to where it's supposed to. Some people say it will catch up. No, you once it's back, it's back.

The jaw will not just grow out on its own. You need to make it grow out. There's devices also that do that. The next problem is that the, again, same thing, the child puts the thumb in the mouth and depends on how they suck. They actually can push these front teeth up and then some children, if they suck intensively, next thing you know they suck. And next thing you know the bone and the teeth are in the back are sub down. So now we have another problem. So now I've already presented to you three or four different things damaged and it's really disappointing because most of the 80% of the children come out and they have all the damages just went over. Okay, so to give you an idea about this, it's in my book again, stop thumb suck revolution. It's available. You go online at www.stopthumbsuckrevolution.com.

In suck revolution. And again, you can see this particular child, we'll look at the top photo first, pushed their upper front teeth out and then the back teeth in the back got sucked down. So this child had both when it was all done. You can see the before and after. And this is one of the cases I actually treated and I want it in the mouth. And then I got the tooth to come down and there was some other tricks and that bottom photo has permanent teeth and the damage that can be done also in this particular photo is the mouth is real skinny and the upper teeth stick out. The bottom is the after result and you can see the child's jaw is back on this photo. It's, we didn't get it to grow out and then they had teenage braces and now the face got totally corrected. And this girl was very beautiful when she was finished.

Not so lucky was a child who came in, we got him the stock thumb sucking and you can see over here the jaw is way back. The teeth were all bucked out, sticking out. We call it buck B U C K. this patient had to have jaw surgery because we, by the time we got them to stop sucking their thumb, they were already a teenager and the bone structures were now permanently damaged. So at age six or seven, you want to bring the child in so that we can handle these particular problems. Not all orthodontists are trained the same to do this, um, just cause they went to orthodontic school. There's a lot of other training that you know how to correct these type of problems. Um, I would say over half the orthodontists don't deal with early treatment. Then the other half, half of those, which now we're down to 25% of organize, have formal training and early treatment at age six.

And then out of that, how many people have the real expertise? I've treated over 25,000 patients in 31 years and over 7,000 of them were age six. The number of thumb suckers I've stopped, or at least over 2000 patients and most of them stopped within one week or less. An actually 50% stopped the pers night when they went home. Um, with the actual techniques that are in this book, um, this book has, has 37 habit busters. How those stops. Simple thumbs up problems like the Charles is doing it here and there, but if they're doing it day at night, there's some chapters in here that you sit down and read them to yourself and then you can practice, you know, with a neighbor or something. You don't have to, but you can go right then to then you can have the book out right in front of the child and just so you don't lose your place, do the techniques that says in the book and the child will stop just as well as you are to bring them to me.

Um, I do do one on one coaching with a child and take patients on to stop their thumb sock habits. Um, my orthodontist offices are from Deerfield beach, the South beach and South Florida. And uh, I welcome to um, meet you and your child, but particularly hopefully the book stops the problem and then we need to handle the damage. Please don't sit there and think this damage is going to go away. It is not going to go away. And it's really disheartening when you come in at age 10 or 11 and I tell you, you should have been here at age seven when the treatment could have been totally reversible. The damages from the thumb or the finger sucking. Again, this is Dr. Donald Fox, www.stopthumbsuckrevolution.com And I really enjoyed helping you or your child today with his damage and learning more about this problem. Thank you.

Stop Suck Habit

November 1st, 2019

Dr Donald Fox, Orthodontist. Stop suck habit.

Hi, this is Dr. Donald Fox, orthodontists. I am an also an expert and different habits of thumb sucking, fingers, sucking, toe, sucking, blanket sucking and yes, binkies pacifiers sucking. You probably want to know, why would you be wanting to look at reading about a book that does this versus why doesn't the dentists know how to stop this problem? The dental field never has figured this problem out and use as different things. I call them crutches. That doesn't address the real problem that a child has because the child actually is making the decision every time to put their thumb in their mouth or their finger and they're causing damage. But you know, in the dental field it's resorted to things like there's a plastic guard that you put over the thumb called a thumb guard and it's very frustrating to the child. It can take weeks and weeks and weeks for the child to stop.

also there is a, gloves that are black gloves and again, the child just takes these off, but again, doesn't address the problem. It's almost like a situation where you got some ID that smoking cigarettes. Why don't we just duct tape their mouth and or other techniques to get rid of the smoking versus helping the person to get the decision to stop the sucking their, to stop smoking. Same thing with sucking. There's also dentists and Peter donnas. Children. Dentists will put a device that's glued to the back Maulers. You see these rings here and it's got a crib and some of them have level's sharp barbs and then there's one down below. It has sharp barbs and it really makes a child feel bad because they don't know how to stop when they just know that they need to stop. Also, let me get over here to the damage.

The biggest thing is the thumb can push the teeth up and out, but more importantly it can take those back up or teeth and suck them down so that now the bite is open. Now these are baby teeth back here. Now we don't want the permanent teeth to come into this position. Or would the patient need to have braces and jaw surgery? Also? There's, you need to find an orthodontist like myself. It's hard to find someone who is very well trained in early treatment. At age six. I have a master's degree and they don't facial orthopedics, which means basically I know how to do alter the bone structures of the face. I can get the upper bone structure here to grow out. I can get this lower jaw here to grow out if the upper teeth are bucked out that the child has to be in my hands around age seven.

A lot of orthodontists have trained somewhat in that, but don't have formal degrees in it. I actually treated over 7,000 patients with facial deformities, particularly at age six, particularly in this case here. This patient here, when finished all the teeth came down and we also handled getting the mouth, fully under control so that the patient didn't have jaw surgery and didn't have any permanent teeth out. So I hope this helps you today. Realize that stop thumb's revolution has 37 techniques, uh, are you can try one at a time with your child if it's something very mild, but really is this three chapters in this book that addresses the problems of why the child is making the decision to stop or not stop thumb sucking. And these are very powerful from as pack a parent, particularly a mom. This book was written for a mom, not a dentist that you read this book on a Saturday and Sunday, roughly six hours each day.

Very easy, fast and arrest and read for you to understand what is going on behind your child's problem. And then you then apply that to it only takes about an hour to hour and a half sitting down with the child. Once they're well fed, well rested, cause you all have their attention and they need to be able to talk to you. yes, this book works as early as age two, as long as the child can talk to you and carry on with sentences. If they can't carry on sentences and they're just distracted or they're bouncing around, you're, you're going to have to wait another six months because you're going to get very frustrated that the book doesn't work because of the challenges to immature. But there are many. I've seen as many as half the age. Two children can carry on a very good conversation about a movie or something they saw and you, you sit down with them and you'll know right away when you read the book and then you go to use it whether they're paying attention to you, but the book works and it really is very awesome.

There's nothing negative in it and the child feels good. You feel good that they stop particularly this embarrassing habit. when it's they doing it out in public or their friends, find out again, it stopped. Thumbs suck. Revolution. It's at WWW.Stopthumbsuckrevolution.com It's on available at Amazon, Barnes and noble and Applebooks, nook. It's in digital and paperback. Again, Dr. Donald Fox, orthodontists. I have offices from Deerfield beach, all the way down to South beach and South Florida, and I've been practicing for 31 years. And I really enjoy what I do and I look forward to helping you. Thank you.
